Modern Society Kit is a speculative design project conceived as a Second-aid Kit for modern society individuals. Developed during undergraduate exam periods and the transition into post-graduation life, the project reflects a raw and unfiltered reality in which studentsincluding the artistwere overwhelmed by stress, competition, and emotional exhaustion.

The work imagines a series of fictional products inspired by everyday coping fantasies: a game-like potion that restores HP when consumed, ultra-high-caffeine drinks without health consequences, or caffeine candy born from watching classmates chew coffee beans to stay awake. Observations from real lifesuch as applying toothpaste under the eyes as a makeshift eye creamare reimagined through absurd repackaging, exposing how desperation turns improvisation into necessity. Other products satirize social obsession with prestige and success: bottled air from elite universities or companies, mocking the belief that even a trace of proximitymerchandise, objects, or symbolic residuecan transfer success or legitimacy. While these products appear ridiculous, they mirror real behaviors people willingly spend money on, revealing the irrational logic normalized by modern pressure.

Balancing satire and empathy, Modern Society Kit does not mock individuals but instead critiques the conditions that push them toward such extremes. This project later became the conceptual starting point for NECESSITY, expanding its critique into a larger fictional brand that labels dysfunction as essential.
